Aquires Simpson Timber Company's
California Operations

Green Diamond Resource Company, privately held and headquartered in Seattle, WA, acquired Simpson Timber Company's California Operaions effective January 1, 2007.

The acquisition by Green Diamond provides a sustainable, reliable supply of timber for our sawmills. We continue to provide outstanding-quality redwood and service to the market, as we have done for over 50 years.

Green Diamond Resource Company forests are monitored and managed to ensure that the wealth of renewable resources and the health of the wildlife continues for the benefit of future generations. This work is done by licensed professional foresters and wildlife biologists.

In April 2001, an independent, third-party audit was conducted on Green Diamond's wood procurement activities by PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP with a team of independent experts in the fields of operations, silviculture and wildlife habitat management. The audit certified that Green Diamond meets the objectives of the SFI Program in all material respects.
