Green Diamond Resource Company

California Redwood Company is a division of Green Diamond Resource Company. Green Diamond traces its roots back more than a century to a small logging company founded in Washington state. Since that time the company has grown to include timberlands and lumber manufacturing operations in three states; however, the company is still privately held and managed with the same long-term commitment to environmental stewardship.

California Forest Products Commission

The California Forest Products Commission was established by legislation in 1990 to educate the public about California forests and the products that they provide. The Commission's three main objectives through education, marketing and research efforts are:

• To educate the public about environmental and consumer benefits of forest management

• To assemble and publicize information about science-based forestry practices

• To demonstrate and communicate the commitment of California's forest industry to balancing environmental and economic concerns

 

California Redwood Association

The California Redwood Association (CRA) is the industry trade association for redwood lumbers products. The CRA provides detailed information about the properties and uses of redwood lumber. This information is available to architects, builders and homeowners.

 

Redwood Inspection Service

The Redwood Inspection Service (RIS) is the organization exclusively authorized by the American Lumber Standard Committee, Inc. to formulate grading rules for redwood lumber. These rules are established in accordance with Product Standard 20-94, the American Softwood Standard, issued by the U.S. Department of Commerce.

The RIS, a division of the California Redwood Association, publishes and maintains the Standard Specifications for Grades of California Redwood Lumber. In addition to redwood, the RIS supervises the grading of whitewoods in accordance with the WWPA and WCLIB grade rules.
